STEVE LYSTON | UNDERSTANDING THE 3-DAY BLACKOUT/DARKNESS

Many are inquiring about the 3-day blackout being foretold by many from 2020 to date, and the concern is intensifying.  It is critical for us to understand the prophetic signs and symbols in these end times.

God is speaking prophetically, but we must recognize that when He speaks it is incumbent upon us to look at His prophetic utterances from various angles in order to get a full understanding of what He is saying.

First, we must consult the Word of God to understand the mysteries.  For example, in the Book of Exodus, there is already a record of a 3-day darkness that already took place – that was the ninth (9th) plague.

“So Moses stretched out his hand toward heaven, and there was thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days.  They did not see one another; nor did anyone rise from his place for three days. But all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.  Then Pharaoh called to Moses and said, “Go, serve the Lord; only let your flocks and your herds be kept back. Let your little ones also go with you.”  But Moses said, “You must also give us sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God.  Our livestock also shall go with us; not a hoof shall be left behind. For we must take some of them to serve the Lord our God, and even we do not know with what we must serve the Lord until we arrive there.”  But the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he would not let them go. Then Pharaoh said to him, “Get away from me! Take heed to yourself and see my face no more! For in the day you see my face you shall die!”  So Moses said, “You have spoken well. I will never see your face again.”  (Exodus 10: 22 – 29)

The 9th plague of darkness carries a two-fold meaning.  First, God was demonstrating His power over the sun-god which was the most potent, religious symbol of Egypt.  Second, It was a direct frontal attack on Pharoah himself since he was considered to be the incarnation of the sun god, Amun-Ra.  So while Egypt plunged into darkness, all the children of Israel had light in their dwelling.  God also did it because Pharoah refused to allow the children of Israel to worship God.  Furthermore, He wanted them to go without the resources that would be used to give sacrifice to and celebrate the Lord.  God also exposed the fact that Pharoah was no god and the He alone is Jehovah.  Furthermore and Pharoah needed to know that the people of God were required to bring their sacrifice before the Lord.

In Goshen there was light, which symbolizes the Holy Spirit; but there was no light in Egypt.  It is possible and scriptural that God can do the same things today.  Christians should not be afraid, because we are already light and salt.  So, while the world may see darkness because of all the things that they have been doing to oppress and hinder Christians – and as a result of the fact that they have used the COVID-19 pandemic as a means of shutting down the Church and stopping Christians from worshipping and serving God, it is within God’s capacity to show “Egypt” His power again with another 3-day blackout.

That being said, when we speak of “darkness” we need to look at the definition of darkness.  For example, wickedness, evil, gloom, corruption, sin, iniquity, immorality, distress, lack of spiritual or intellectual enlightenment, fear and ignorance are all examples of darkness and in fact define darkness.  In addition to this, the words hidden, unknown course of action, lack of direction are also a part of “darkness”.

Further to all this, John 11: 10, John 12: 35, Luke 22: 53, 1 Thessalonians 5: 7 are scriptures which exemplify darkness. Also, Genesis 1: 2 helps uys to see that darkness includes being without form and void – so there was lack of order, lack of beauty, chaos, total disorder and by extension, darkness brings division.  All of this is possible if the Holy Spirit decides to restrain Himself, and then is where you would have hell on earth.  The Holy Spirit is the only One Who gives Life, Light and order.  He is the Only One Who can restrain any evil spirit.  What would happen then, if the Holy Spirit decides to step back and allow evil to reign?  He may want to show us all what it is to be ruled by Satan.

A lack of God’s word will bring darkness also.  The Holy Spirit reacts to God’s Word.  The world is passing laws to muzzle true worship and God’s worshippers, to shut up the mouths of God’s people, because God’s word brings light, which is the presence of illumination.  Once there is a restriction on the Church – the collective carrier of God’s Word, Light and Truth – then we will also see the manifestation of that in the luminary bodies created by God on the fourth (4th) day according to Genesis 1: 14.  Also, we will see the manifestation of more viruses, plagues, pestilence and death as these are also part of darkness.   All these issues can only be dealt with by the children of light.  God is clear in His Word that when there is famine, earthquake, pestilence, or what they call climate change, then 2 Chronicles 7: 13 – 14 is the only solution.

Genesis 1 shows us that God uttered over 10 times – the chapter says “And God Said…” over 10 times, and that is what brought life and order back.  The Holy Spirit is the One Who brings life and order in times of death and chaos.

A 3-day blackout can also symbolize the rapture of the church, so when God calls away those who are the light, it means the world would plunge into spiritual darkness.  The very thing the world is fighting is the very thing that it needs to escape the darkness.

Communication Blackout

This is also another kind of darkness that can come up on the globe.   A Communication Blackout includes the results of an EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse), as well as a cyber-attack, falling meteors or a meteoroid shower – which can have serious effects on satellites, volcanic eruptions – where the ashes would block the sun, geomagnetic storms, space weather, terrorism, war, nuclear strike, large scale accidental system failure, extreme weather, power outage, internet and GPS failures, electrical power outage and phone blackouts, radio blackouts, ionization blackouts, and the effects of space craft re-entering the earth’s atmosphere.

Financial Blackout

A financial blackout is real.  For example, a scenario where all the banks go down and people lose all their resources and all access to recovery of any kind.  That would cause a global riot.   It means that all 13 stock markets would go down, supermarkets would run out of food and close down, gas station resources would quickly deplete, governments and government systems would crash and lawlessness would take over.

It is critical for us to understand symbols.  For example:

The Sun symbolizes heat, God, Light, goodness, affliction, persecution, trial (Malachi 4: 2; Mark 4: 6 & 17).  F

The Moon symbolizes the Church (true or apostate), to rule, to manifest.  So where it is said that the moon will turn to blood, it indicates persecution of the Church.  (Mark 13: 24; Acts 2: 20; Genesis 1: 16; 2 Kings 23: 5; Deuteronomy 33: 14 and Isaiah 30: 26)

Day/Light symbolizes knowledge, truth, holiness, righteousness, direction, manifestation, revelation and illumination.  [and as we know day is the opposite of night]

God can also flood the world with light so much so that the light is a blackout for the darkness and reveal all the lies and deception which can plunge the earth into darkness.

Read Ephesians 5: 13; John 3: 21; Acts 20: 8; Psalm 119: 103; 1 Corinthians 3: 13; Genesis 1: 4 – 5.

Psalm 91: 6 speaks of darkness and the fact that within the darkness there is pestilence that walks.  So, this indicates demonic spirits being released upon the globe.   It also speaks of destruction that wastes at noonday.   Satan will destroy great multitudes, yet not touching the children of God because we dwell in the secret place wherein there is Light.  We also see, in Luke 23: 44 – 45, that there was a blackout over the earth between 12 noon and 3 pm.   The entire globe was darkened.  This was the time when Jesus bore the penalty of man’s sin.  The Sun was darkened – blotted – out for 3 hours.  (Psalm 22: 1 – 21; John 10: 17 – 18; Hebrews 9: 14)

If Christians have no light, it means they have run out )of oil.  (Remember the 5 wise virgins and the 5 foolish virgins.)

The Bible also speaks of:

  • The rulers of darkness of this world.  (Ephesians 6: 12)
  • The Battle of Armageddon (Ezekiel 38: 9)
  • Satan and his demons will appear on the earth to battle against God. (Joel 2: 2; Isaiah 24: 22; Isaiah 60: 1 – 2; Psalm 67: 1)

God’s people Israel  There will be darkness in the great tribulation especially when the Church is raptured.  The world will have no light.  It is critical for the unsaved to surrender to the Lord quickly to enjoy the Light.

Apocalyptic Happenings

Finally, the last darkness is that which surrounds the Apocalyptic happenings.

Based on the Scriptures, only God has the power to block the sun which He has already said He would do in the end-time to bring man into repentance.  (Job 9: 7)

Isaiah 13: 10 – 16 tells us that it will be judgement on the Babylonians for the evil that they do on the earth.  Read Joel 2 and Amos 8: 9 which says, “And it shall come to pass in that day,” says the Lord God, “That I will make the sun go down at noon, And I will darken the earth in broad daylight;”

No one would want to see a global heatwave and a total blackout at midday throughout the world.

Matthew 24: 29 says, “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.”

Is it that the enemy wants to create a false tribulation before the real one in order to mislead the people of God or deceive people regarding the breaking of the 6th seal which will bring cosmic catastrophe affecting 7 classes of men?  If we interfere with the sun, what will happen in places like India and other places affected by heat and water problems?
