STEVE LYSTON | PNP LEADERS NEED REVELATION NOT JUST EDUCATION

The recent happenings within the People’s National Party (PNP) regarding leadership is a reflection of what is happening globally.  It is critical that there be significant adjustments to leadership styles in dealing with the global happenings.  The globe does not lack educated leaders, what the world lacks, however, are leaders with vision, revelation and common sense.  The PNP needs leaders who will not be afraid to bow their knees in prayer.  (Matthew 6: 33) There is a need for those who are willing to build with the wisdom of God.  (Psalm 127).  We need leaders who will make righteousness and justice the foundation of their thrones. (Psalm 89: 14).  There needs to be leaders with a voice for the poor, the fatherless and the widow; one who will advocate the rights of the needy. (Proverbs 31: 8 – 9).

Psalm 82: 1 – 4 reminds us, “God stands in the congregation of the mighty; He judges among the gods. How long will you judge unjustly, and show partiality to the wicked? Selah. Defend the poor and fatherless; do justice to the afflicted and needy.  Deliver the poor and needy; free them from the hand of the wicked.”

Visionaries

Any leader who will make any meaningful change to our nation, will need to birth a vision from God Himself to bring restoration to the nation.  Our nation is already abused and neglected, and the young people have no future, while the older ones are left idle.   Any leader that will be bringing any meaningful change to the nation cannot follow other countries’ blueprints in order to facilitate economic growth and reduce crime.  They must birth one through prayer, one that will last for many generations.  Unless there is a vibrant and viable alternative, then our nation may end up in anarchy.  We need a vision where the people can see themselves grow individually and as a nation; a vision that will create hope for a long time.  It cannot be a quick fix, but something that will motivate those who read it and empower and educate the people.  It has to be something that will help the people to be self-reliant – bringing out their gifts, skills expanding their capacity for growth, especially as a nation.  They recent Olympics spoke volumes regarding the gifts and talents that exist in our nation and that is only the tip of the iceberg.  So, if we can cut back on security and highway-building , and invest more in sports, music and farming, for example, then we could see real and positive results.

We must come to the realization that Tourism has taken a HUGE hit globally and at home, so we can’t rely on that industry as the major contributor to our nation’s economy. In fact, tourism is now doing more damage to a nation than anything else, based on the decisions made by its leaders. However, what if we had invested in our craft industry and exported our craft items, how many more of our athletes could we have sent to the Olympics?  How many more potential greats could have been discovered, trained and sent?

What The Nation Needs Now

We need leaders who will gather the “fragments” of the society – the broken and rejected that not many pay attention to or care for – but have the potential for greatness.

We need leaders who will address the needs of the nation before they begin to look at the wants.

We need a justice system for all.

We need leaders who will establish a sanctuary city for the poor and needy.

We need a strong welfare system, and family must be established as the first line of government.

All the empty lands and buildings must be utilized in farming, skills training and entrepreneurship.

We need leaders who will revamp the court/justice system to address the social issues and broken families and to deal with crime effectively.

The PNP will need to get rid of the old advisors that have become a hindrance to the growth of the people and the nation overall.

The JAMAL program needs to be revamped, re-tooled and restored to “active duty” for the benefit of the people of the nation.

These new visionaries will need to utilize retired and former police personnel and soldiers as Deans of Discipline in Schools, and as Community Liaisons and Resource Personnel for Neighborhood watches.

The PNP, if they want reconciliation with the people of the nation and within the party itself, they will need to make atonement as a result of past choices they made that are still hurting the country.  They cannot rely on marketing strategies and money to regain state power, but instead they must look to Jesus.
